When Typhoon Danas Hit Taiwan, EBC Moved Quickly with USD10,000 Relief

On 6 July, Typhoon Danas made landfall on Taiwan’s southern coast, bringing heavy rainfall and powerful winds. Tainan was hit particularly hard, with thousands of homes damaged or flooded. Key infrastructure was disrupted, and prolonged outages in electricity and water added to the pressure on local communities. Agriculture losses were estimated at NT$1.6 billion (approx. USD49 million), while education facilities sustained damage exceeding NT$260 million (approx. USD8.9 million). Our Immediate Response: USD10,000 in Aid We at EBC Financial Group acted quickly. In response to the disaster, we donated USD10,000 to Tainan’s official Social Assistance Fund.
